     Emperor Lothaire I (of the Holy Roman Empire) was born in 795 in Altdorf, .1 He was the son of Emperor Louis I 'The Pious' (of the Holy Roman Empire) and Princess Ermengarde (Irmengarde) (of Hesbaye).1 Emperor Lothaire I (of the Holy Roman Empire) died on 29 September 855 in , Rheinland, Prussia.1 He was buried at St. Sauveur, , France.1
     Emperor Lothaire I (of the Holy Roman Empire) was also known as Emperor Lothair I (of the Holy Roman Empire). He was titled Holy Roman Emperor (Lothaire I) in 840.2 He became Holy Roman Emperor in 840 replacing Emperor Louis I 'The Pious' (of the Holy Roman Empire).2 Emperor Lothaire I (of the Holy Roman Empire) was replaced as Holy Roman Emperor by Emperor Louis II (of the Holy Roman Empire) in 855.2
