     Benjamin Sherman was born on 15 July 1677 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of Peleg Sherman and Elizabeth Lawton. Benjamin Sherman married Hannah Read between 1694 and 1727.1 Benjamin Sherman married Martha Cook on 18 February 1716/17 in Tiverton, Newport County, Rhode Island.1 Benjamin Sherman died between 1721 and 1769.1
